who and what is silc?

People with disabilities and their families are supported to establish family-governed homes in a natural setting, with choice and control over where they live, who they live with and the people that support them.

the para co-operative difference

Postively impacting communities, continued engagement between families.

"PaRA co-operative has demonstrated that family governance models can work very successfully. It has also demonstrated the improved productivity and quality that occurs when families and staff work together in the interests of the young adults living in the house." - PaRA Co-operative.

SILC has made a real difference to the life of myself and my family.

I have been able to connect with other like-minded families through SILC and have been able to access support and resources to build a home-away-from-home environment for my son with severe disabilities to live in for part of the week. SILC has equipped me and enabled me to be involved in every step of my son’s shared care living arrangements, ensuring that it is a happy, secure environment for him, with workers that are best able to support him.
